“Gift Locally!” Holiday Bazaar at Leedy Grange will benefit community

To raise money to improve the kitchen and dining area of the historic Grange Hall, members of Leedy Grange are organizing a holiday bazaar on Thanksgiving weekend, November 25-27, 2011. Sale hours are Friday: 3-8 pm; Saturday: 9-4; Sunday: 11-4. The event is free and open to the public. Free hot drinks will be served.

“Not your Granny’s Bazaar!”

Over 30 local artisans, crafters, and entrepreneurs will sell hand-made and locally-sourced gift items, jewelry, housewares and decor, artwork, food gifts, holiday greenery and decorations, and much more. You’ll find affordable prices for one-of-a-kind gifts and goodies. VISA, Mastercard and Discover debit and credit cards may be used for purchases.

Friday evening will be a special opening party, with music from “Just Us Flute & Guitar” with Morgan Brown - Flutes & Recorders, and Robin Teitzel - Guitar & Recorders. They'll be playing both Celtic and Classical music, and will mix in some favorite holiday tunes, too!

And sample French Madeleine cookies free along with our hot drinks.

A portion of the proceeds will go to help Leedy Grange upgrade the kitchen and dining facilities for community events. Leedy hopes to do more to support the Local Food movement and better facilities will allow more food-related activities, such as cooking and food-preservation workshops and classes. Many local organizations use the hall, which is available for rental.

Leedy Grange Hall was built in 1903. It is located in the heart of Cedar Mill at 835 NW Saltzman Rd., (at the Saltzman entrance to Bales shopping center). The hall is accessible. Bus lines 50, 62 and 89 all serve this area.
