biscuits & gravyHearty breakfast for a good cause

8-11:30 AM August 29, 2009
at the Grange Hall

Leedy Grange will be serving up a country-style breakfast on Saturday morning, August 29 from 8-11:30 am at the Grange Hall, 835 NW Saltzman, at the Saltzman Road entrance to Bales Thriftway Shopping Center.

On the menu is your choice of biscuits topped with home-made sausage gravy or fresh-grilled French Toast and sausages. And the prices are an incredible bargain at $5 for a large portion of either choice and $3 for a small. Bring the whole family and stoke up for your weekend.

At last years’ event we heard comments like, “best sausage gravy I ever had,” and “can I have thirds,” and “Mmmmmm.” We’re planning a repeat performance with the slightly-more-health-conscious addition of fresh peaches to top your French Toast or as a side with your biscuits. Lots of great K&F fresh-roasted coffee and orange juice will round out the breakfast fare.

Funds are being raised for the Washington-Yamhill Pomona, the regional organization that supervises and aids the Granges in those counties. The “WaYa” Pomona is part of District 3, which will be hosting the State Grange convention in 2012. Money raised will help pay for the convention space and other expenses when we host Grangers from around the state.

School Supply Drive

In addition to the fundraiser, we’re collecting school supplies for needy kids at our local schools. Needed items include #2 pencils, colored pencils, 24-pack or 48-pack boxes of crayons, glue sticks, child-size scissors, wide-rule notebook paper, reams of copy paper, wide-rule compositions books, and rulers with inches and centimeters. Google your local school’s website for more detailed info.

We’ll be collecting supplies at the Pomona breakfast, and throughout the year during all our events and at our regular community potlucks, every second Saturday at noon at the Grange Hall. Everyone’s invited to join us for lunch to find out more about what your Grange is up to. Visit Leedy's website at leedygrange.org for more information.
