Historical photos return to Grange for breakfastIf you missed the collection of historical Cedar Mill photos that was exhibited at the June Shortcake Social, they will be exhibited again on August 30 for a breakfast to raise funds for the regional Grange organization, the Washington-Yamhill Pomona. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-11:30 am at Cedar Mill’s Leedy Grange, 835 NW Saltzman on the east end of the Bales lot. Grange members will be serving a delicious breakfast of biscuits with sausage gravy or French Toast with sausage, plus coffee and orange juice. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under. The photo exhibit features photos that were originally collected for the Cedar Mill History book by Nancy Olson & Linda Dodds. Many of the photos have been enlarged, and the collection features interesting captions. Photo subjects range from the businesses in early Cedar Mill, logging, farming, schools and churches, and prominent local families. The Washington-Yamhill Pomona coordinates activities among the dozens of “subordinate” or local Granges in the two counties, and participates in state-wide Grange activities. Leedy Grange, founded in 1903, is always seeking new members to help plan family activities and support our community. For more information about joining the Grange, contact Virginia Bruce 503-803-1813 or email me .
