Creating a Rollover
in Dreamweaver 1.2

These instructions may not be exact, I don’t have 1.2 loaded any more. It’s much easier in 2. (see below)

  1. Create two versions of your graphic. You can call them something like foo.gif and foolit.gif to indicate that they are the same subject, one lit and one not.
  2. In DW, place the first graphic. Select it and name it in the box in the lower left corner of the inspector window.
  3. Click the "bullseye" icon at the bottom of the main window, this will bring up the behaviors dialog box.
  4. click the "+" on the left. This will bring up the popup. Select OnMouseOver and then select "Swap Image."
  5. in the "set source to" window, find and select the graphic you want to swap (e.g., the "lit" version).
  6. Now select the plus again, and select OnMouseOut, and select "Swap Image Restore."
  7. Save the file, you’re done.
