How are you the same as you were at CHS?   I'm still a struggling guitar player; Can't get my picture taken at a class reunion I guess; I'm just as shy, in an outgoing way; Same alleged sense of humor (slightly refined by now); Same best friend (Jim Carraher).

How are you different? I'm slightly taller, much more bald and less afraid of smart women (though I probably should be).

What is your proudest accomplishment?  Outliving my Mother

Where do you live?  house in the city

Parents:  Father: deceased,  Mother: deceased

What have you been up to for the last 45 years?

Wow, what at question! Graduated from SJSU in 1968, did a year of grad school in English (to avoid the Draft). Married my College sweetheart.

Joined San Jose Police Department in 1969 because Jim Carraher told me it would keep me out of the Draft (common theme here?). He was right. Police officer for 5 years.

Divorced and started Law School at night while on the Department. Passed the Bar in 1976 (the war was over). Started practicing Criminal Defense in 1977 with my buddy cop/lawyer friend. Built a nice practice with a lot of help from my friends (the practice still owns me).

Became a Dad in 1983 after a short but dangerous liaison. Co-parented my daughter, Jordan (never got less dangerous) and married a great solid, bright woman, Sarah (my Mother's name) in 1989. Our son Ben was born in 1993. Junior at Bellarmine (Volleyball and Math). Jordan is in grad school (Masters in Psych-goal to be an MFT).

Sarah and I still like each other. Some other stuff probably happened in between, but it's been a great experience (the part that wasn't devastating).
