Lyle "Buddy" Wadsworth left us on July 20, 1986, suffering a heart attack after 18 holes of golf with his golfing buddies.

He was married to Delores Federico (class of '67) and had two daughters, Nicole and Terra.  Both girls are still living in the San Jose area.  He has three grandchildren and one due to be born in early October.  Unfortunately he did not survive to see his grandchildren.

Delores is now residing in Medford Oregon.  Lyle's mother Jean Feith, has passed on but his dad is alive and living in Port Orange Florida.  He is also survived by his sister Toni Lee Kennedy who also resides in Port Orange.

He was employed by the City of Cupertino and loved to golf.  He is very much missed and thought of often.

No one, absolutely no one could make us laugh like Lyle "Iron" Wadsworth! No one could take a girl onto the dance floor and make her feel like she could win a prize, the way he could!

I miss him still, every day. He was such a good friend, brother, son, husband and father. From childhood to manhood, we were so lucky to have known him

Thanks Buddy!

Lyle worked part time after school at the Shell gas station on the corner of Bollinger and Highway 9.   I think Ken Nelson’s dad owned this station if I remember correctly.

I was a regular customer there to fill up my car during the days of real “full service” gas stations in the golden 60’s.

Lyle would come out to help fill the tank with his cheerful personality and quick smile.  He loved to kid around and once asked if I needed fresh air in the tires.  I asked what  he meant by that and he said that he would take out all the old air from the tires and put new fresh air in them.  Also while he was at it he would put fresh new water into the windshield wiper dispenser.  After having a good laugh about it he confided in me that a couple kids from our class actually thought he was serious.

Lyle was that kind of guy, very funny and loved to make people laugh.  I’m sure he is missed by those whose lives he touched.  He was a great classmate and friend during the high school years.
