"Chris" Sally Yates

JoAnn and I used to walk down the block to see Chris at her home on Rodonavan Dr. I remember her bedroom distinctly. Everything was in order and so much of who she was. It was her design, her colors, and her furniture arrangement. Her parents never made a decision about her room. I always thought that was so very cool. She had a telephone in her room and I wanted so much to have one myself but it was not to be.

Being an only child, I always thought Chris was far beyond her years. She always seemed much more mature than everyone else; especially me. Chris is one of the girls at Cupertino that I remember the most. I don't even know why. I just know that I always liked her. I miss her even as I type this today. For me, Chris was one of my unforgettable high school friends.
